Please find below details of the Club Organising Committee and their Roles & Responsibilities. These members should be your first port of call for any queries about Grimsby & Cleethorpes Canoe Club, and can be contacted either in person at any of the organised sessions, through the contact tab on ClubPal, or via the social media channels. 

Chair - Aidan Wilkins

The Chairperson will preside at all General Meetings of the Club and at all meetings of the organising Committee, and shall be responsible for guiding the activities of The Club in accordance with its rules and general policy as expressed by the majority of its members. They shall represent The club at meetings of other organisations, and shall be an ex-officio member of any other committee of the Club.

Vice-Chair - Andy Caldwell

The Vice-chairman shall deputise for the Chairman in their absence.

Club Secretary - Hazel Bull

The Club secretary will be responsible for the organisation of meetings of the organising committee and of The Club. They shall also be responsible for transmitting to the Section Representatives all the correspondence relating to their section at the earliest opportunity.

Treasurer - Andrew Poppleton

The Treasurer will be responsible for the collection of all monies and shall keep such books of account as required by the organising Committee.

Membership Secretary - Derrick Hall

The Membership Secretary is responsible for the collection of subscriptions, the issuing of receipts, and the maintenance of an up-to-date membership records.

Welfare/Safety Officer - Laura Willey

The Club Welfare Officer (CWO) is responsible for acting as a source of advice about safeguarding and protecting children, promoting good practice and for coordinating action within the Club on receipt of any concerns or referrals.

Equipment Officer - James Tye

The equipment officer is responsible for maintaining our existing club equipment and facilities, as well as keeping accurate records of what stock equipment is available and where.

Social  / Communications Officer - Ben Johnson

This role is responsible for all internal and external communications relating to club matters, whether through Clubpal or social media. This role will also support the setting up of events.

In addition to the above, there are a few committee members without defined roles, but bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the team. Those members are Mike Berryman and Steve Butterfield.
