Winter Pool Training

UPDATE for 2025 -

1. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE POOL AREA BEFORE A COACH HAS ARRIVED.

2. PLEASE ENSURE PERSONAL BOATS ARE CLEANED THROUGHLY AND DISINFECTED BEFORE THEY GO INTO THE POOL.

3.  BOATS SHOULD BE CARRIED AT ALL TIMES AND NOT DRAGGED ALONG THE POOL FLOOR.

4. NO SEAL LANUCHING FROM THE DEEP END. ALL BOATS MUST BE CARRIED ROUND TO THE SHALLOW END TO LAUNCH.

We are lucky to get into a local pool. Please ensure we show the facility respect at all times.

This year attendance costs £6 for all members.

Note bookings close 2 hours before the start of the session.

The pool session is scheduled from 21:00 to 22:00 at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre. In order to get equipment pool side and get changed in time, an arrival time of 20:45 would be advised. Please meet in the car park near to the rear fire door. Paddlers will then enter through the front of the leisure centre and get changed in the changing rooms provided before making their way through to the pool area at 21:00. Please note that there will be a swimming session beforehand and we must ensure entrances to the shower and changing area remain clear. The pool will be divided up into coached areas and you will be assigned to a coach. It is essential you follow the coaches instructions to ensure everyone’s safety. Please ensure once changed you ‘check in’ with a coach and upon exiting the pool ‘check out’.

Whilst boats and paddles can be provided please note that there are a limited number and will be allocated on a ‘first booked on, first served basis’. Unfortunately, we are only available to provide and store the club pool boats at the pool and they may not be suitable for all paddlers.

Paddlers with their own equipment are advised to bring their own; boats will be prioritised for those with no kit.

Paddlers bringing their own equipment must ensure it is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected for pool use. It will be inspected prior to being allowed into the pool. Coaches will be able to direct paddlers to get their equipment at the pool side. No outdoor shoes are allowed on poolside. Helmets & buoyancy aids are mandatory for under 18’s and optional for adults as specified in the pool risk assessment. Please try to minimise what is taken to the poolside.

Lockers are available in the changing rooms but a refundable £1 coin is required, please try to minimise things left at the poolside during the session. Possessions taken to poolside are at owners risk. No photography is allow without prior approval.

Under 18’s must have a parent or appropriate adult at the pool for the duration of the session.

Children will only be released into the care of their responsible adult.

Risk Assessment for the session can be found on Club Pal. Click, ‘Governance’, ‘Risk Assessment Cleethorpes Pool Session’.

The Organising Committee of the Pool Sessions believe that the welfare and wellbeing of all children is paramount. All children, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, have equal rights to safety and protection. All suspicions, concerns and allegations of harm will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately. A welfare officer, Laura Willey, for the event has been appointed and will act as the point of contact for any concerns or allegations.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
