Our Christmas warm up Sea Kayak River Trip - Weather dependant.
Only suitable for adult members who have completed one or more Docks introduction to Sea Kayak sessions.
Entry level Sea Kayak river trip launching from Southrey at 10am, paddling for about one & a quarter to one and a half hours to Barney Locks where we will make a 30-45 mins lunch stop. (Toilets available) before returning arriving back at launch point at approximately 2pm.
We will plan to meet at 9:30 at the free gravel car park approx 100metres south east of the Riverside Inn in Southrey (Ferry Rd, Southrey, Lincoln LN3 5TA)
The pricing remains the same as a dock session: Adults £6
All equipment is included in the price and paddlers would need:
- Swimwear
- Towel
- Dry change of clothes
- Hot Drink
Plus appropriate protection for the expected conditions.
- Wetsuit/Drysuit
- Thermal rash vest/Warm Base Layer
- Wet shoes or old trainers with waterproof socks
In addition on dependant on the day equipment such as the following maybe necessary:
- Hood
- Gloves/Pogies
- Thermal rash vest
- Cagoule
Please do let us know when you book the equipment you require and whether you can transport this yourself.
Extra information:
We only have a six of Sea Kayaks so places are limited if you want to use a club kayak.
We do not have changing facilities at this event, a beach changing robe works well.
All paddlers must have their equipment checked and only enter the launch area once fully kitted out. On return, exiting the session, paddlers should keep all safety equipment on until they have left the launch area.
Please ensure as you enter or exit the launch area that you notify the assigned club official and they will “check you in” and ”check you out“.
