Summer Camp '24 is here!
This will take place Friday 28th June – Sunday 30th June and will be hosted at National Water Sports Centre Nottingham (Holme Pierrepont). After two successful camps at this venue we have decided to take it to the next level.
We are going bigger and better with events for all of the family on and off the water. Saturday will see us run multiple sessions on the water including beginner sessions on the whitewater course, paddle sport awards, coaching on the lake. This takes us into Saturday night for our inaugural Summer Camp Olympics. Whilst Sunday brings all of the members back together on the water for the traditional Trent River trip or you may take the opportunity to complete your PSRC! Please see the information below!
Information
Holme Pierrepont Country Park
The National Water Sports Centre is nestled amongst 270 acres of the beautiful Holme Pierrepont Country Park which provides adequate camping facilities. There are many things to do in the area such as walking, mini-golf, Lagoon wipeout and climbing.
Booking of your pitch is done by yourselves here. To ensure we are all pitched together please book a non-electric pitch and, in booking notes, please type, ‘Part of Grimsby and Cleethorpes Canoe Club, please pitch us together in Rafters Field’. If you require an electric pitch, please book this and ask for Rafters Field – you will not be located too far away from the activities. Pitches generally cost £30 per night for up to 6 people. Paddle Sport Safety and Rescue (PSRC)

Join us for the Paddle UK Paddle Sport Safety and Rescue Course. A relaxed and fun day on the water learning the latest in safety and rescue techniques for the sheltered water environment. On this course you will be introduced to a wide range of rescues to help keep you and others safe and dry in sheltered water. It is highly recommended for anybody who paddles on sheltered water to give you the tools to deal with common incidents that may occur. This course is aimed at paddlers of all abilities from beginner onwards!
We promise that you will go away with loads to play with, as well as learning to rescue kayaks, canoes, SUPs and sit on tops from your choice of craft. We will be spending most of the day on and in the water, so you do need to be prepared to get wet whilst having fun, experimenting and problem-solving loads of different possible rescue scenarios.
This will be delivered by Dave Beecroft of Whitewater Ways who is an excellent provider and has worked in assessing many of our club coaches. At the end of the day, you will be awarded your PSRC and for many it is the beginning of a long paddling career.
Additional Fee: £35 BC members/ £41 non-BC members
